We loved this picture the instant we saw it! The color combinations, the teal and orange, the rugged browns, the thorny border which frames the scene with the crown of roses at the top, all of it was so beautiful! We kept looking at it. It was hard not to.
Then we realized this is a meditation picture. We can ponder the suffering of Jesus and his Passion. There on his chest is his Sacred Heart, which reminds us of the reason he did this for us: His boundless love. He was not a helpless victim. He chose to undergo his trial.
The artistry lets our eyes stay on the subject. But more than that, we can ponder Jesus's sacrifice for us as we gaze at this image. Beauty is a facet of God by which he can enter our hearts. If you'd like to, you can use this picture while you're praying.
** IMPORTANT ** There is a white border around the image! The image is smaller than the paper! Sizes below.
- 5x7" or 8.5 x 11" acid-free paper
- Archival pigments, rated to last for generations.
- Cardboard backer
- Above story of the art
- Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag.
** IMPORTANT ** IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! There is a blank border all around the image of about .5" for 5x7, 1.3" for 8.5x11". All Approximate as the image and paper have different ratios in their rectangles. The white space around picture means the image is smaller than the paper. It gives the framed picture a matted look without using a matt.
Thanks for your interest!
Thanks!
