Mary the Throne
Mary the Throne
This evocative image was originally done as a pen and ink drawing with watercolors.
One of the titles of Our Lady is the Throne of the King, and Sue presents Mary as a strong, capable mother for her Son. She offered herself, body and soul, as the “God-bearer,” or in Greek, “Theotokos.” In ancient times of Jewish history, the queen was always the mother of the king. We should feel confident to call upon her as our queen and mother, the same as Christ calls her.
IMPORTANT: Each of the 3 sizes indicates outside dimensions. There is a border of white left around the image, approximately 1 1/2" to 2" all around.
