This charming card was made in 1921 mostly for American Catholics, with the prayer on the front printed in English. (The year is printed at the bottom of the original card which we've trimmed off.) The publisher, E. Boomard, was in the top 5, perhaps top 10, of the best holy card makers in the golden age of holy cards, which was France in the 19th and early 20th Centuries.

The quote on the front starts with Luke 2:14, "Glory to God in the highest," and then adds a short prayer. We've put one of the most common traditional Catholic Christmas prayers on the back, with a bit of updating to the language which the centuries had made somewhat obscure.

Our restoration of this holy card is one of our series of Christmas Holy cards. We've restored these beautiful old cards as a little way to help strengthen people's spiritual lives and make our Christmas celebrations holier. We've worked to have a good mix of beautiful art and a variety of prayers, meditations,and Scripture on the back. Grown ups and Children alike can use these during the Christmas Season to help keep Christ in mind.
