New! Christmas Holy Cards #3 – A St. Therese Favorite – Restored Holy Card from France – pack of 10/100/1000

We've loved this charming holy card for a number of years, but not as long as St. Therese of Lisieux. She made numerous personalized copies of it, where she took the card on a larger sheet of paper and embellsiehd around the image with her own hand-painted flowers. We included one of these in the description.

If you're curious, on the front of Therese's hand-made embellishment, she wrote: "I am Betrothed to the One whom the Angels serve.

We think this this card was originally done about 1850 or 1860. The reason we think that is because it was an engraving with lithograph color adapted to it, which is what a lot of the early- and mid-19th Century holy card makers did when lithography came along and they wanted to keep their engravings up with the cool kids. There still were some engravings being made when Therese was alive, but there were sooo many that were older engravings adjusted for color, which makes us think this was one of those. They did that for their most popular cards, like Louis Turgis did for our Rosary card.
