Holy Card – St Monica – Prayer for Wayward Children – pack of 10/100/1000 – Restored Vintage Holy Card
St. Monica prayed for her wayward son, St. Augustine, for 17 years. She also prayed for her husband for over 30 years. Both Augustine and her husband came to the Faith. God uses our tears.
We hope that the prayer on the back helps many parents, or granparents or aunts and uncles, to perservere in their prayer for all the wayward children today, as well as give them some peace that we can trust in our Lord. St. Ambrose consoled Monica during her long vigil, teling her, “It cannot be that the son of those tears should perish.” (source: stjosemaria.org)
Monica and Augustine had about 6 months affter he returned to the faith before she passed into glory. The front of this card carries a scene from that beautiful and peaceful time. It was painted in 1854 by Ary Scheffer (1795–1858), a Dutch painter living in France, known for his portraits and literary scenes as well as his religious work.
Peace be with you,
