In this tranquil picture of a Dominican nun walking in the woods by her convent, we have a great sense of calm and beauty. She is holding a book as she strolls, doing spiritual reading.
I asked Sue what order this nun is in, and she told me. I asked if the nun was saying her daily office. "No," Sue said, "Dominican nuns don't say the office alone; they say it together. They call it 'in choir.'" :) <3
"Peace," the Lord says, "My Peace I give to you." May your days be as peaceful as the nun's in this picture.
Anton Hansch (1813–1876) was an Austrian painter who primarily did landscapes, including many beautiful mountain paintings.
** IMPORTANT ** The image is smaller than the paper! There is a white border of about 0.5" inch for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11, or 1.6" for 11x14" pictures. The border gives the prints a finished look, and lets them look good in frames without using a matt.
– Acid-free paper
– Archival pigments, rated to last for generations.
– Cardboard backer
– Above story of the art
– Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag.
