This beautiful Sacred Heart was done in the late 19th Century by G. Benziger of Switzerland, who in our opinion was maybe the only publisher outside of France who could compete with the French holy cards in terms of beauty and elegance. The colors of this painting are deeply attractive to us. We love old Catholic lithographs. It is our joy to bring them to you.

It was done for the Marian shrine at Einsiedeln, Switzerland, one of the great European pilgrimages to Our Lady. Einsiedeln is still popular today, and was especially popular in the 19th Century before Lourdes, Fatima, and even Lisieux.

The Sacred Heart means the interior life of Jesus, his thoughts, will, and feelings. As Christians, we are offered the incredible invitation to enter into his Sacred Heart. It is a deep love God gives us.

A devotion to the Sacred Heart carries benefits as promised by Jesus to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in the 17th Century. The ninth promise is, "I will bless every place in which an image of my Heart is exposed and honored." As such, we encourage you to have an image of the Sacred Heart in your home.

The Immaculate Heart Companion for this piece is here, and they look great together:

** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! There is a white border of about 0.5" inch for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11", or 1.6" for 11x14" pictures. All Approx! Fine art printers do this because the images are almost never the same rectangular ratio of the standard paper sizes. It also gives the prints a finished look, and lets them look good in a frame without a matt.

- Acid-free paper
- Archival pigments, rated to last for generations.
- Cardboard backer
- Above story of the art
- Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag.

Thanks for your interest!
