“The Scourging at the Pillar” is a remarkable work of William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905), an artist we like but usually don’t carry. We think this is the best version of the Scourging we've ever seen. The torturer on the left seems ice-blooded self-absorbed. The traditional prayer on the back places us there at the scourging, with our sins.
