New! St. Therese of Lisieux – by Edgar Maxence
French Symbolist painter Edgar Maxence (1871-1954) painted many lovely pictures of our friend St. Therese of Lisieux. We think he did this charming litttle jewel about 1910.
Therese is wreathed in roses while she holds up holy hands in prayer. The cross is at her center, as it was in real life.
The round picture is ababout 3 inches in diameter, and you can discern the aproximate frame sizes by that and by our daughter Geneivieve's ladylike hand! These are all pretty much adorable "fun size" pictures, perfect for a prayer nook, a desktop, or even as an accent on a wall with other pictures.
Edgar Maxence (1871-1954) was a French Symbolist painter who was known for spiritual paintings of Saintly and Medieval women. They all have this dreamy, contemplative quality. We carry several others of his in our shop, including the sister picture to this one, an adorable round picture off Our Lady under the title of Rosa Musica.
– Comes framed
– Frame sizes vary from about 3.75" to 4.25". Image is 3" round.
