Stella Maris – Based on a Argentine Holy Card – Catholic Art – Catholic Gift – Archival Quality

We loved the colors of this old holy card, the yellows and teal. And of course, the subject. Mary, Our Lady, as Stella Maris, Star of the Sea. Being on the ocean is still dangerous, and has been forever. Especially when you were out on all that water and all you had to guide yourself were the stars in the sky. Sailors and their families would pray for guidance, and protection. What else? You can either place your trust in God or panic. God always rewards our trust, our prayerful dependence on him. He is a loving Father who does not abandon his children. Mary is our faithful mother.

We cannot find the history of the publishers, Industria Argentina, but there are a lot of their products out there, all old. We assume it was from the early 1900s, before Argentine political extremism destroyed their nation. Stella Maris, pray for us!

We did a lot of restoraton for this one becuase we liked the colors so much.

** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! There is a white border of about 0.5" inch for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11", or 1.6" for 11x14" pictures. All Approx! Fine art printers do this because the images are almost never the same rectangular ratio of the standard paper sizes. It also gives the prints a finished look, and lets them look good in a frame without a matt.
