Frances Cabrini was the youngest of 13 children, from a village near Milan, Italy. In 1880, when she was 30, she founded the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Although she wanted to do missionary work in China, Pope Leo XIII sent her to New York City instead.
Mother Frances Cabrini and her sisters organized catechism and education classes for the Italian immigrants. She established schools and orphanages despite tremendous odds.
Requests for her to open schools came from all over the world. She traveled to Europe, Central and South America and throughout the United States. She made 23 trans-Atlantic crossings and established 67 institutions: schools, hospitals and orphanages. She was a devout, deeply prayerful woman. She was canonized in 1946 and is the Patroness of Immigrants.

What an amazing woman! I tried to portray the loving kindness of Mother Cabrini in this colored pencil painting.
The image size is approximately 5 x 7 inches.
But if you want it matted and framed, the overall size will be about 11 x 14 inches.
