Vintage French Holy Card - Anonymous Artist
Simplicity. It is a virtue, a state of our soul at peace. At the top of this card it says, "What Mary wants from me is". At the bottom of the card it says in big letters "Simplicity". Below that it says, "To be simple is to have only one object: God alone."
This is a great thing to remember at all times. It is especially good when we are stressed and hounded by the difficult complications of life. Whether they be overwhelming problems or just nagging little details, it is good to remember that God is in control, and he only asks us to keep our faces turned to His. Let go and let God. Love Him with a child's heart, and trust in His love for you.
Bouasse Jeune is one of our favorite vintage publishers of holy cards. They did several virtues in this series, of which we offer three. Simplicity, Candor, and Perseverance. They are all personal favorites, especially Simplicity.
** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! There is a white border of about 0.5" inch for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11", or 1.6" for 11x14" pictures. All Approx! Fine art printers do this because the images are almost never the same rectangular ratio of the standard paper sizes. It also gives the prints a finished look, and lets them look good in a frame without a matt.
- Acid-free paper
- Archival pigments, rated to last for generations.
- Cardboard backer
- Above story of the art
- Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag.
Thanks for your interest!
Thanks!
Sue & John
