Ignatius of Loyola was a Spanish Knight, who, while convalescing from battle wounds, dedicated his life to Christ. Studious and scholarly, he found the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) and wrote the Spiritual Exercises about discerning God's will and making retreats, which is still very much in use today.

The original painting was done in acrylics and colored pencils on paper, 9" x 12." Ignatius is shown doing what he did a lot, writing! Sue conveys the Asian influence in the look of this image, which makes us ponder the time he spent in missionary work.

IMPORTANT: Each of the 3 sizes indicates outside dimensions. There is a border of white left around the image, approximately 1 1/2" to 2" all around.
