This unique Victorian beauty is one of our favorites. The colors are joyful and exuberant with lovely decorative elements framing a devoted St. Margaret Mary Alacoque and Jesus. Alacoque was a French nun who lived in the 1600s and grew popular in the 1800s. She was declared Blessed in 1864. In this picture, she is adoring Jesus and His Sacred Heart on the altar while two cherubs look on. She is almost swooning, she is so much in love with him.

The words translate to, "Here is this heart that loves men so much." N.S.J.C. stands for Notre Sauveur Jésus-Christ (Our Savior Jesus Christ). The vivid colors and patterns remind us of certain illuminated manuscripts. The red flower buds resemble the drops of the Precious Blood around the Sacred Heart. They signify Christ's passion, and the white refers to His purity.

St. Margaret Mary had visions and conversations with Jesus. She promoted a devotion to the Sacred Heart and started the modern practice of the holy hour! A wellspring of devotion to the Sacred Heart spread in the 1800s from France, to Poland, and eventually to the United States. St. Margaret Mary was canonized in 1920. Her feast day is October 16.

** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! There is a white border of about 0.5" inch for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11", or 1.6" for 11x14" pictures. All Approx! Fine art printers do this because the images are almost never the same rectangular ratio of the standard paper sizes. It also gives the prints a finished look, and lets them look good in a frame without a matt.

- Acid-free paper
- Archival pigments, rated to last for generations.
- Cardboard backer
- Above story of the art
- Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag.
