Robert Zünd (1826-1909) was a landscape painter throughout his long art career. He lived through the Industrial Revolution and into the 20th Century, but you wouldn't know it by looking at his paintings. They are all serene and graceful nature scenes, with no machines, arranged in classical composition theory, a style harkening to the century before his. As he got older, he became more religious, and he wove Biblical themes into his countrysides.

In this one, we have Our Lord shepherding his flock towards a little stream for drinking. He is carrying one lamb and looking over with concern to another bounding back to the fold. All is tranquil and orderly. There is a village on the water and a larger one across the bay. Like most of the landscapes that Zund did, it is a restful, beautiful place.

** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! There is a blank border all around the image of about .5" for 5x7, 1.3" for 8.5x11, 1.6" for 11x14, and 1.75" for 13x17" and 16"x20". All Approx! The white space gives the framed picture a finished look without using a matt.
