Worship Him Who Made
by Clayton and Bell

This beautiful piece is part of a larger mural illustrating Bible stories and emphasizing that God is the Creator of all things in Heaven and Earth: Space and time, stars and planets, light and dark, plants and animals, the human race, all his handiwork. We think this picture is really cool. The sun and the planets have an elegant, almost science-fictional look, even though this was done in 1865. The swirls and ribbons look a lot like the whorls on Jupiter, which their telescopes had not yet been able to reach or reveal. A perfect picture for anyone who wants a beautiful declaration of the glory of God in the worlds he has made.

The mural is from St. Michael and All the Angels Church of East Yorkshire. The church was originally built about 1132 A.D., but by the 19th Century it was in need of considerable repairs and refurnishing. The firm of Clayton and Bell, primarily known for their stained glass, were hired to do the murals. We don't know if this particular style had a name, but it is visibly part of that river of Western art that flows from Romanticism through Pre-Raphaelite and Art Nouveau to 60s art and Peter Max. We think it's beautiful. Enjoy!

** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! There is a white border all around the image of about .5" for 5x7, 1.3" for 8.5x11, 1.6" for 11x14, and 1.75" for 13x17". All Approx! The white space around picture means the image is smaller than the paper. It gives the framed picture a matted look without using a matt.

- Acid-free paper
- Archival pigments, rated to last for generations.
- Cardboard backer
- Above story of the art
- Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag.
